Care for the individual

At Haileybury Almaty, every single child is important to us.

We use international testing systems so we are aware of every child’s potential and carefully track them against the results to ensure they are performing at the right level. We carefully analyse their academic and social needs to provide additional support where children need it.

Our class teachers in the Lower School and housemasters in the Upper School are responsible for pastoral oversight and will help and guide pupils during their time with us alongside t academic staff.

Haileybury is known worldwide not only for it’s academic excellence but also for the care and support we give each individual pupil to help them do their best in a supportive and happy environment.

House System

House System

Haileybury Almaty has a House system based on that at Haileybury in the UK. Every pupil and academic staff member in the school belongs to one of four House teams. The only exceptions are the senior leadership team, who remain neutral so that we can have impartial judges for House competitions!

The House provides a way for pupils of all ages to socialize and work together as a team. Throughout the school year the House calendar features a series of competitions, ranging from sports days and swimming galas to poetry, music, and the ever-popular (and unpredictable) Talent Show! The House year culminates on Speech Day when the winners of the coveted House Trophy are announced.

The Houses’ names reflect Haileybury’s nineteenth-century origins as the East India College and Imperial Service College. Each House is named after famous alumni of Haileybury in the UK: Attlee, Bartle Frere, Edmonstone and Kipling: a former Prime Minister, soldier, diplomat and writer, respectively.
