In Key Stage One, the pupils develop the skills they acquired in Pre-Prep in a caring, positive, challenging and stimulating learning environment. Our engaging curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales adapted in order to reflect our context and location. Where possible cross-curricular links are made to enhance and contextualize learning. The pupils are taught by English speaking staff for English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities (History and Geography), Design and Technology and Art. They receive lessons from specialist teachers for Kazakh, Russian, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Information Technology and Music. The provision of subjects grows, with the introduction of optional languages: Spanish and Mandarin are introduced as major world languages in addition to English, Kazakh and Russian.
Key Stage 1 has a dedicated staff of 4 teachers and 8 teaching assistants, Children have the opportunity to learn a wide range of musical instruments in Key Stage One. In Key Stage One, we work together with the parent and child to encourage the children to develop independence and responsibility. Our aim is to develop and nurture the children, encouraging the germination of the love of learning that will continue to grow as they move on into Key Stage Two.
