“The Library aims to be a multimedia learning resource centre for all staff and pupils at Haileybury Astana, a quiet place for study and a source of reading for pleasure.”
Haileybury Astana School has two libraries housing over 10,000 books. The junior library is used by all pupils in pre-prep and KS1. The library is bright and colourful and aims to instil a love of reading from an early age. All pupils in nursery and KS1 attend the library every week to change their books and to hear a story.
The senior library is used by students from KS2 through to KS4. Students attend the library for information literacy sessions and to choose reading books. The library aims to teach students skills that will enable them to become independent learners and to provide a pleasant environment for reading and study. Books in the senior library are selected to appeal to a wide range of ages and reading abilities and include both popular and classical fiction books and non-fiction books to assist students with research and their studies.
